6. Update and recovery expectations

The frozen 2.0.5 macOS package was accepted as an update over 2.0.3, with the existing active profile observed afterwards. In an earlier RC6-to-RC7 test (2.0.0 to 2.0.1), Adobe refused direct installation of the older package over the newer one. A supported remove/reinstall recovery drill remains unperformed; the owner deferred it. Keep a known-good package and supported profile exports, and do not assume a transparent downgrade.

This guide makes no changes to store prices, subscription terms or the old published PDF files.

Learn the current workflow

Use the Learning Guide for new control effects and job-based routes. The Colour Atlas uses the current 26-rule palette. Some labels and colours differ from the old edition; use the current rule name as well as its dot. Training examples and possible editorial outcomes do not restore the 1.1 Safe Clean interface.
