User Manual

1. About this edition

This manual explains the current Avellio 2.0 UXP workflow: inspect a document, review evidence, make an explicit decision, and verify the result. The documentation tab is named Avellio 2.0.0. The actual plugin described here is 2.0.5 source review. These are different identifiers: the tab groups the 2.0 documentation; the build identifies the installed software.

This edition was checked against the 29 October 2026 source. The frozen 2.0.5 package has recorded macOS acceptance for ordinary-document workflows. The earlier installer excludes the newer Typography recommendations, which still require installed-panel validation.

The manual is for designers, editors, production artists and prepress teams familiar with InDesign text frames, stories and styles. Control names are given in English. The panel also supports German, French, Spanish and Czech; changing the interface language does not change the publication's analysis language.

Working rule: Inspect, review, then apply only a justified change. Inspect again after changing the document. A finding is evidence to evaluate, not an instruction to repair everything automatically.

Start with the amount of detail you need

  • Learn the workflow: Learning Guide explains the working model, a first small inspection and everyday decisions.
  • Understand a coloured mark: Typography Colour Atlas shows all 26 rule colours with examples, exceptions and next steps.
  • Choose a real job: Workflow scenarios cover client proofing, books, annual reports, magazines and multilingual work.
  • Try it safely: Practice exercises use text you can create in a disposable document; exact counts are not promised.
  • Look up a term: Working glossary explains story, copyfit, locale, override, freshness and related concepts.
