13. Show evidence and clear diagnostic marks
Inspection and panel navigation do not automatically add page objects. Showing evidence is an explicit document action. Depending on the finding, the inspector offers an exact text/river display or paragraph context. Paragraph context identifies a containing paragraph, not a character-level error.
Show filtered and Show this rule use existing exact anchors. Group operations skip context-only/layout-only findings and ranges that cannot be safely anchored. The group planner caps a request at 1,000 ranges; native write guards can impose additional limits. Read applied/skipped counts instead of assuming every visible finding was marked.
Conditional Text indicators remain visible on screen and do not print. The owned conditions must not hide source text or change composition. They can still alter the document's diagnostic state and dirty flag; saving can retain them. Marking is therefore different from a read-only scan.
Use Clear marks / Clear issue marks, or Clear Style Map for its active map. Foreign user-authored conditions are outside Avellio's ownership. If a stale document blocks adding marks, cleanup can remain available; finish cleanup and inspect again. Before delivery, check that the intended diagnostic view is cleared and verify the layout in InDesign.
