15. Freshness, rescanning and safe cancellation

Inspection captures a document-specific composition fingerprint. A text, style, frame or composition change can make evidence stale. Actions revalidate identity and relevant geometry; an unchanged visible panel is not proof that an old result is still safe.

When you edit in InDesign, finish the edit and choose Update inspection. Confirm the completed scope and settings. Changing a filter, opening another area or marking a finding does not itself replace the completed inspection with a new one.

Only one guarded operation should own the document at a time. Wait for confirmed cancellation or completion before switching documents or requesting another repair. If an operation refuses a stale or missing reference, preserve the working copy, clear owned marks when safe, and inspect again. Avoid running Avellio 1.1 and 2.0 against the same document concurrently.
