Three-dot ellipsis
Plugin rule colour. Read the rule name as well as the dot.
Avellio notices: Three separate dots occur in a context worth reviewing.
Example to inspect: Wait...
Possible editorial outcome: Wait…
Why review it: An ellipsis character and three independent dots have different spacing and editorial roles.
When to keep or investigate: Leaders, code, literal patterns and quoted source material can intentionally contain separate dots.
Your next step: Check house style and surrounding punctuation. If a change is appropriate, make it in InDesign and check the resulting spacing.
Verify: inspect the edited text again with the intended scope and policy. Check meaning and nearby composition; a review status alone does not prove a correction.
In the plugin — Suggested replacement: Consider a single ellipsis character; confirm the intended punctuation. Only exactly three ordinary periods qualify. Longer dot sequences receive contextual advice. Teaching example: Found ... → Suggested …. This recommendation does not edit text; verify context, make a deliberate change in InDesign if appropriate, then inspect again.
