Overset and terminal-frame fit
Separate a text-fit problem from a decision about frame geometry.
Understand the principle
Overset means that text does not fit its available flow. A typography-based candidate and a frame-geometry candidate solve different constraints. An eligible live frame-fit preview can expand the bottom edge of the verified terminal frame while preserving paragraph typography.
Look in White Space. The publication concept and a plugin issue identifier are related, but are not interchangeable.
Compare the intent, not only the characters
A threaded story has hidden overset text.
The intended text fits with acceptable composition and geometry.
Schematic teaching example, not a plugin screenshot or a promise of automatic correction.
Review it in Avellio 2.0
Check threading and the real overset target in InDesign. Read the proposed strategy and distinguish panel-only evidence from live Preview in layout. Check page boundaries and nearby objects, then finish Apply or Revert and inspect again.
This is composed-layout or style evidence, outside the 26 Typography rule IDs. Read its area-specific inspector and colour meaning.
Use the selected finding’s actual evidence and offered actions. If no suitable supported action exists, make a justified manual decision in InDesign or retain the occurrence. After an edit, inspect again and check nearby composition.
When the difference can be intentional
There may be no eligible candidate. The current flow is not a promise of arbitrary frame reshaping, automatic editorial shortening or unrestricted batch repair.
What should I verify after deciding?
Preserve meaning and the intended design. If you edited the document, obtain fresh results for the intended scope and policy. If you kept the occurrence, record a supported review decision when useful. A smaller filtered count is not proof of a repair.
Use it in a real workflow
