Use 
AUTO locale when paragraph languages are reliable. Choose an explicit regional locale when one convention must govern the complete scope; the flag is an orientation aid and the written locale code is authoritative.
Fix Plan safety classes
- FIX Safe Auto-Fix: only six guarded actions.
- REVIEW Review Required: one item, context, Before/After, Apply or Skip.
- Manual Only: design or editorial choice; correct in InDesign.
- CAUTION Blocked / Never Fix: stale, ambiguous, protected, or unsafe. Do not bypass the guard.
Safe Clean — exact scope
- Remove ordinary trailing spaces.
- Collapse clear double spaces.
- Remove clear spaces before punctuation.
- Replace exact
...with…. - Replace a clear numeric range hyphen with an en dash.
- Apply NBSP to a recognized number–unit pair.
Safe Clean does not batch-fix empty paragraphs, soft returns, layout breaks, manual indents, prose double hyphens, arbitrary quotes, dates, number formats, currencies, or abbreviations.
