What Avellio is

Avellio 1.1.0 Q3 2026 provides separate Inspect Styles and Inspect Typography workflows, document-bound analysis, locale-aware diagnostics, guarded correction routes, issue navigation, cleanup, and exportable audit evidence. Findings are evidence for review and can be heuristic; Avellio does not guarantee an error-free or output-ready document.

It is intended for designers, typographers, editors, layout specialists, template owners, production teams, and other Adobe InDesign users responsible for typography, style consistency, editorial QA, and pre-delivery review.

Workflow and feature groups

The recommended production sequence is: preserve a working copy, inspect, run a complete audit, review evidence, apply only appropriate guarded or manual corrections, rerun the audit, export current reports, remove diagnostics, and visually proof the final output.

Inspect Styles

Style frequency visualization, native shading, legacy overlays, override detection, Style Integrity Audit, Style Hygiene evidence, active-font and active-language summaries, and supported style cleanup routes.

Inspect Typography

Seven selectable profile states, five issue families, 34 visible rows, 43 report identifiers, configurable limits, scope controls, issue navigation, and full Typography Audit.

Locale-aware QA

AUTO resolution from paragraph language plus 34 explicit language or regional profiles for supported punctuation, quotation, date, number, currency, abbreviation, unit-spacing, and related conventions.

Action Layer

Fix Plan, six guarded Safe Clean families, Review Queue, supported locale-aware text corrections, exact style cleanup routes, and explicit manual-only or blocked outcomes.

Analysis workflow

Document-bound palette, analysis scope, threaded-story handling, incremental updates, provisional Live Mode, result-freshness checks, Health diagnostics, and cleanup before delivery.

User-triggered Typography CSV, Override CSV, and Fix TXT exports created from current audit or Fix Plan evidence.

Compatibility and installation

Avellio is an Adobe InDesign Loader + Engine script package, not a standalone application. It requires Adobe InDesign desktop with the Scripts panel and the ExtendScript/ScriptUI behavior used by the supplied release.

License transport is implemented for Windows and macOS. However, The current documentation contains no completed signed support-matrix row. Specific operating-system and InDesign combinations must not be presented as certified until the final Loader + Engine package passes the documented release matrix.

Do not interpret the observed authoring-workspace combination or a legacy “CC 2020+” statement as a certified support promise.

Processing and privacy model

Locally inside Adobe InDesign through the InDesign scripting object model. Document content is not included in the reviewed license-request constructors, and the reviewed release contains no automatic telemetry, report upload, or crash-log upload.

Activation and periodic validation use outbound HTTPS with the configured licensing provider. Document analysis stays local unless the user chooses to share a document, screenshot, exported report, snippet, or diagnostic file. User-exported reports can contain document snippets and audit metadata.

Locale behavior

Avellio exposes AUTO plus 34 explicit locale profiles. AUTO uses the InDesign paragraph language and available context; an explicit profile applies one selected regional convention to eligible paragraphs in scope. Locale-aware results still require contextual review.

Relationship to other QA tools

InDesign Preflight

Use InDesign Preflight for output and asset conditions such as links, fonts, images, overset, color, profiles, packaging, and defined output rules. Avellio is a complementary typography and style QA layer, not a replacement.

GREP Find/Change

Use GREP Find/Change when the team knows the exact deterministic pattern and intended transformation. Avellio helps discover and classify evidence where locale, style, composition, or context matters.

Human proofreading

Human proofreading and design review remain responsible for meaning, facts, names, tone, brand judgment, visual intent, accepted exceptions, and final approval.

Verified limitations

Findings can be heuristic or intentional and do not guarantee that a change is required.
Avellio does not guarantee an error-free document or final output readiness.
The Assets view reports active fonts and languages in analyzed text; it is not a complete asset, link, color-profile, package, or PDF-standard preflight.
Live Mode is provisional editing feedback; a fresh full audit is the authority for reports and fixes.
The palette is bound to the document active at launch.
Diagnostics can persist in saved InDesign files until they are explicitly removed and verified.
No specific OS/InDesign combination is certified in the current signed support matrix because the matrix has not been completed.
