Italian Typography Rules
Italian and Swiss Italian profiles differ mainly in Swiss number and currency conventions while retaining Italian language behavior.

Quotation marks
Guillemets with double curly nested quotes are the Avellio model; enforcement is conservative in IT CH.
Punctuation spacing
Standard punctuation spacing applies with contextual review around quotations and abbreviations.
Non-breaking spaces
Protect values with units and currencies according to the publication standard.
Dates
Day–month–year is expected; Italian month names in dates are expected lowercase.
Numbers
IT uses dot grouping and decimal comma; IT CH uses Swiss grouping.
Currency
IT uses suffix € or EUR; IT CH uses CHF/Fr./fr.
Units
Recognized value–unit pairs use protected spacing.
Regional variants
IT CH retains Italian lowercase-month checking while adopting Swiss numeric and currency context.

Avellio does not perform general Italian grammar or capitalization correction.
